Learn to Sail Liveaboard Vacation

Learn to sail while enjoying all the spectacular sites and activities that San Diego has to offer. The following is a typical itinerary of an ASA Learn to Sail-San Diego vacation. Click here for Testimonials.

Sailing Class Curriculum

Day 1

Complimentary pick-up at the airport. Drive 5 minutes to your liveaboard yacht. Stow your belongings. Buy provisions for your stay. Begin the ASA Basic Keelboat course. Wrap up the day at approximately 4 pm. You're on your own. Take a walk to one of the many fine restaurants located on Harbor Island.

Day 2

Continue the ASA Basic Keelboat course. Complete the Basic Keelboat exam around 4 pm. You're free for the night. 5 minute drive to the Gas Lamp Quarters downtown. See a movie or go shopping at the famous Horton Plaza.

Day 3

Begin the ASA Coastal Cruising course on your liveaboard yacht. Dock at one of the restaurants on the bay for a nice lunch. Wrap it up at approximately 4 pm. Cook dinner on the boat and relax with a good book.

Day 4 Continue the ASA Coastal Cruising course. Complete the Coastal Cruising written exam at approximately 4 pm. Head to the airport to return home with your newly acquired ASA Certification!

Learn to Sail - San Diego is located at the Cabrillo Isle Marina next to the Sheraton where we have use of their pool and jacuzzi, plus a 20% discount for food and beverage.
